You garage may seem like a black hole of clutter, but that does not have to be the case. All the clutter is not only be an eyesore, but could potentially be a safety hazard as well. Keeping these garage organization tips in mind can help make sure your garage is a safe and well-organized room of the house.

Clutter. Separate items into the garage into appropriate categories to make everything easily accessible. Whatever is not needed, give or throw away to make more room. Invest in organization solutions, such as cabinets or shelve to keep everything organized.
Fire hazards. Most garages are full of potential fire hazards, such as paint thinner, gas, and pesticides. Make sure to store all flammable materials in their original container in a well-ventilated area. Always keep a fire extinguisher in the garage in case of a fire.
Carbon monoxide fumes. The carbon monoxide fumes from your vehicle can seep through wall that is shared with the garage. Make sure to install carbon monoxide alarms in every room to protect your family from the colorless, odorless gas and never keep a car running in the garage, even if the door is open.
Security breaches. The garage door can be an easy entry point for burglars. Make sure to always close the door when leaving the house and lock the door leading from your garage into your home.
